Out and About at Summer Shows Again (finally!)

After the impact of COVID restrictions on so many big events in the summer calendar, summer shows are now back for 2022. ALIenergy’s Education Officers are looking forward to being back at three of these shows coming up in August in the Mid-Argyll and Kintyre area. These popular annual events are a great opportunity to take STEM resources out and engage with the people of all ages. 

Visitors to the ALIenergy stand will have the chance to find out more about who we are and what we do, as well as investigating the fun, free and interactive activities on offer for the day. These include our newly refurbished dynamo bike, together with a range of science equipment and activities from our schools’ workshops. There will also be up to date information and advice around career and training opportunities for young people in the area. In previous years the summer shows have proven to be fantastic opportunities to engage with parents and carers of students we have worked with in the local schools.

The dates of shows that we are getting ready to attend are:

• Friday 5th August: The Kintyre Show

• Thursday 11th August: The Islay Show

• Saturday 13th August: The Mid-Argyll Show

With families and other groups attending after not being able to for such a long time, Education Officers are excited at the chance of spending time with visitors explaining more about our education work and answering any questions about this and any other aspects of how ALIenergy engages with communities across and beyond Argyll. They will also be making sure that as many younger visitors as possible get to enter one of the competitions running over the three events.
