Energy Action Scotland Conference 2024

The ALIenergy team had the privilege of attending the annual Energy Action Scotland Conference: Solutions for Fuel Poor Households on Nov 14-15 in Clydebank.

This important event shed light on the ongoing crisis of fuel poverty, as many households across Scotland continue to face rising energy bills. Together, we explored innovative solutions to tackle this pressing issue.

As well as the plenary sessions featuring ministers and sector experts,  delegates had the opportunity to attend and participate in breakout sessions.

Breakout 1: Understanding the Retrofit Funding Environment

A workshop to create a better understanding of the different funding routes to support fuel poor households through retrofit covering Scottish Government programmes, Warmer Homes Scotland, the area based schemes and the Energy Company Obligation.

Breakout 2: Fuel Poverty Strategy

Colleagues from across the UK shared their experiences and good practice in the development and revision of fuel poverty strategies in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

Breakout 3: Working with vulnerable households

Colleagues from National Energy Action and organisations in Scotland working with vulnerable health compromised households shared their experiences of providing support and securing beneficial outcomes to protect and improve the quality of lives. Session included experiences from the Vulnerability and Carbon Monoxide Allowance project funded by the gas networks in Britain.

A big thank you to Energy Action Scotland and Peter Sandground Photography for capturing these moments!

Congratualtions to all the amazing award winners - so much dedication, very well deserved.
