Oban Winter Warmer

During Winter 2022/23, we are partnering with Healthy Options, Oban Youth Cafe, HOPE Kitchen and Atlantis Leisure. Funded by the Scottish Government, the partners have designed a programme of activities to help with physical and mental health and wellbeing throughout the winter.

Atlantic Leisure will be hosting weekly Winter Warmer Drop-ins launching 21st Dec at 7pm. These sessions will offer a warm space within the Cafe area of Atlantis Leisure and the opportunity to meet partner organisations offering a range of support to people this winter.

ALIenergy-Support with Energy

ALIenergy’s activities cover affordable warmth in the home, energy education and local energy projects. The current energy price crisis means that record numbers of households will be struggling to afford their heating this winter, and may be at risk of suffering health consequences from living in a cold or damp home. ALIenergy can provide a range of home energy advice, information and assistance including crisis grant applications depending on circumstances. ALIenergy advisors will be attending drop in events at various local venues throughout the winter.

Atlantis Leisure-Your Community Space

Atlantis Leisure is a community-run health and leisure centre that sits in the heart of Oban. We’ve been serving the community of Oban and North Argyll for over 30 years, breaking down the social and mental barriers often associated with sports centres. Instead, our focus is on inclusion and how we can meet the needs in our local area as much as possible. As a result, our 30 years has seen us support a range of additional projects and initiatives that have gone on to wider impact beyond the Centre doors. Our business works best when our customers and staff are having fun - above all, we strive to ensure that the Atlantis environment is a fun and uplifting place to be. We’re for the community, by the community. That means Atlantis is for you, your place when you need it most.

This project is funded by the Scottish Government’s Community Led Local Development fund. CLLD gives local communities the power to tackle their own, local challenges by building knowledge and skills, supporting new ideas and encouraging cooperation. The aim of the fund is to help create viable and resilient communities.
