Mairi's Story
Mairi was fleeing domestic violence and was referred to support services through the Parental Employability Support Fund. She needed assistance with energy costs, having run out of credit on her gas pre-payment meter and struggling to dry clothes. With the help of ALIenergy, Mairi was connected to a Debt Advisor and Womens Aid, and she received guidance on energy-saving and humidity management.
Financial Gain
ALIenergy’s Affordable Warmth Advisor successfully secured six fuel vouchers totaling £291, a new heat pump tumble dryer and the Warm Home Discount award of £150. The total financial support received amounted to £895.
Impact and Additional Benefits
ALIenergy’s support helped alleviate Mairi's fuel poverty crisis. As a result, she can now dry bedding and laundry affordably for her disabled child, which has significantly improved both her mental and physical health and wellbeing, as well as her child's.
Additionally accessing debt advice has eased Mairi’s worries, enabling her to set up manageable repayment plans and improve her mental wellbeing.
